Hours for the sheriff’s records counter are not published. The sheriff’s current physical address is supported by the 2026 county-source record, but older directories differ, so call before visiting.

Use the facility for current-custody confirmation and ask whether it is the custodian of a requested booking item. The facility houses county and state inmates, and its official page does not publish a searchable public roster or a booking-photo policy.
Court and State-Custody Routes
Winston County Circuit Clerk, Gwenita Mays, maintains felony records, criminal suits, indictments, dockets, and judgments. Written Public-Records Requests
For a jail or sheriff record, send a focused written request under the Mississippi Public Records Act, Miss. Code §§25-61-1 et seq. Identify the person, approximate booking date, arresting agency, and booking number if known, then ask for an itemized estimate and the legal basis for any redaction or denial. Section 25-61-5 governs the timing of a response or production decision, while §25-61-7 addresses fees. A public body with written procedures may generally take up to seven working days, with a written explanation when more time is needed; absent agreement, production generally may not extend beyond fourteen working days from the original request.
